This post is going to be pretty interesting. I just find a lot of information on search engines and a bit of it is weird nevertheless the following post is almost certainly quite awesome. Material like this will make it easy to get the blog kept up to date. I am certain you are likely to like this musical instruments post. Let me know if you agree.

A Brief History of Musical Instruments

No one is certain when the first musical instruments were made. It’s possible that they predate language in human cultural development, but I’ll leave that argument to the anthropologists. What is sure is that there is a deep, ancient desire within people to express themselves using sound. Our voices were almost certainly used for more than communication. Somehow that was not enough. Our ancestors pushed creative sound further.

The first instruments were probably percussive because they are the simplest to make. Clapping hands or striking flint on flint, it’s easy to imagine that this would be our earliest attempts to make our own rhythm, our own pulse, sent out into the world and echoed back. What likely followed were simple mallets and skins stretched on bowls. What makes these tools so distinct is that they had no other purpose than create a controlled, predictable sound. Our modern drums are a descendant of this type of early instrument.

Most likely wind instruments came next. These could have been created relatively easily with a hollowed out plant stem or animal horn to create a simple flute or horn. This innovation gave a greater range of notes and pitches. Another feature is that it uses breathing to generate and control the sonic effects, more closely resembling our vocal chords. Further technical advancements in smelting and metal working gave us instruments with more sound making precision and exceptional durability. Modern trumpets and saxophones are closely related to these early instruments.

          ]]>

Stringed instruments likely came last. Egyptian records indicate that instruments using vibrating strings existed at the time of the pharaohs, near the dawn of recorded civilization. Lyres and harps are early examples and their manufacture required a dedicated craftsman. This instrument gave us harmony and chording on one device giving greater sonic possibilities to a single musician. A later development added a resonating chamber making the instruments potentially louder. Violins and guitars are modern string instruments. Modern pianos are a special hybrid; it has hammers that strike the strings making it percussive and stringed.

The control and use of electricity took musical instruments to a completely new level with developments like the microphone and amplifier. Guitars had pick-ups added, keyboards had wave form manipulation and the most mind-boggling innovations have come with computers and digital music. Experiments are being conducted to create plasma instruments and other advances could bring instruments that interface directly with our brains.

Like our ancestors, we still use sound to create and the instruments we use are developed along with our technology. We keep stretching the possibilities toward the horizon and when we arrive, I believe we will find more horizon to explore.

Lover Man Kirk Roland 1959 In a little restaurant in Amersfoort, Holland, Roland Kirk was recorded with the Swiss trio of pianist George Gruntz in 1959 by the KRO broadcasting company Roland Kirk ( 1936-1977) Preferring to lead his own groups, Roland Kirk rarely performed as a sideman, though he did record with arranger Quincy Jones, Roy Haynes and had especially notable stints with Charles Mingus. His playing was generally rooted in soul jazz or hard bop, but Kirk’s knowledge of jazz history allowed him to draw on many elements of the music’s history, from ragtime to swing and free jazz. Kirk also regularly explored classical and pop music. Kirk played and collected a number of musical instruments, mainly various saxophones, clarinets and flutes. His main instruments were a tenor saxophone and two obscure saxophones: the manzello (similar to a soprano sax) and the stritch (a straight alto sax lacking the instrument’s characteristic upturned bell). Kirk modified these instruments himself to accommodate his simultaneous playing technique. He typically appeared on stage with all three horns hanging around his neck, as well as a variety of other instruments, including flutes and whistles, and often kept a gong within reach. Kirk also played harmonica, english horn, recorders and was a competent trumpeter.

I am in a small rush at this time but I must have this post made. Its not effortless to stay on a great update plan but I want to allow it to become consistent. Perhaps in the long run I will be able to write on this thing even more regularly. Right this moment I just want to display a neat piece I located on musical instruments. It really is slightly useful.

Which music instruments can you learn at any age?

Many of us are captured by music, so much so that music has become an important part of our lives. At some point in our lives, many of us want to learn to play a musical instrument. We may thing that taking violin lessons or guitar lessons is fun. Or we may fantasize that we can turn professional and perform on stage. Well, learning to play a music instrument like the ukulele, saxophone, guitar or violin may turn out to be more than a hobby as many people have gone on to teach once they have mastered the instrument.

It does not matter if your child is looking to learn a music instrument, or if you are trying to pick up the skills of playing violin or playing guitar at middle age. In this article, I will outline four music instruments which are relatively easy to learn at any age:

Ukulele

          ]]>

The ukulele is probably one of the easiest music instrument to play. Unlike the guitar, it has only four strings. The size of the ukulele is also portable, the smallest being the Soprano Ukulele followed by the concert and tenor ukulele. Even a child as young as four years old can take ukulele lessons and learn to play the ukulele by strumming simple chords.

2. Guitar

The guitar is currently one of the most popular music instruments around. Many young children and teenagers aspire to play the guitar at some point in time. The guitar is also relatively cheap, and you can opt to learn the acoustic guitar or the classical guitar as a start. Most teenagers nowadays prefer to learn the acoustic guitar to play pop songs. As with the ukulele, you will need to master how to strum chords for the guitar.

You also have the option to learn to play the electric guitar. However the electric guitar costs more than the acoustic or the classical guitar so if you are on a budget I suggest you start off learning the acoustic and classical guitar.

3. Violin

The violin is as popular as the guitar and can be learnt at any age. Violins come in many sizes, starting with 1/16 size for three year olds, to 1/8 size, ¼ size, half size, ¾ size and full size. The most important step in learning the violin, no matter what age, is to master the proper bowing and fingering techniques.

4. Piano

The piano can be learnt from age five onwards. The most important aspect in learning the piano is to practice constantly and master the playing techniques.

Carrie Underwood surprised high school students in her hometown of Checotah, Okla., with a performance and new musical instruments worth more than 7000. The donation is part of Underwood’s new Checotah Animal, Town & School (CATS) Foundation and was granted in conjunction with the Academy of Country Music’s charitable arm, ACM Lifting Lives. Underwood also brought one of the school’s fifth graders onstage to perform “So Small” with her. “I am so proud to have come from such a wonderful community that helped shape me as a person,” said Underwood, “and I can think of nothing better than to share the gift of music with the students in my hometown. It’s so great to be able to give back in a way that can truly better the lives of these kids and help create dreams and opportunities. I’d like to give a very special thanks to the Academy of Country Music’s Lifting Lives for helping me make this dream come true.” www.cmt.com
There were supplier for musical instruments that have a huge stock of acoustic guitars and some specialises in electric guitar setups.
Pythagorean Tone Generator This musical instrument generates Pythagorean notes that the human voice and modern musical instruments cannot duplicate. When seen on an osciloscope, each note is a perfect circle instead of a sawtooth pattern as with our musical scale. Pythagoras believed these notes represented the universal Music of the Spheres and had transformative properties for matter or the bodies of people at lower frequencies of manifestation. Each note produces the esoteric sound corresponding to each chakra point and the instrument is used to stimulate and purify the chakras in the body. The notes are designated by the corresponding archetypal planetary symbol for use in alchemical meditations and experiments. Each note produced by these custom made chimes is based on precise mathematical proportions known as Pythagorean tuning. Pythagoras (569 BC) was a brilliant Greek philosopher and mathematician. Pythagoras taught his students that focusing on pure mathematically precise tones would calm and illuminate the mind. With discipline, true happiness could be experienced. Pythagoras taught that music should never be approached as a form of entertainment.
